The zero-tolerance policy will be reinforced and advise patient with instances of the list below will be removed from the practice
Types of behaviour that would be found unacceptable:
The following list is not exhaustive, but outlines actions and behaviours considered unacceptable by the practice:
- Derogatory remarks concerning protected characteristics
- Making inflammatory or provocative statements
- Posting or publishing derogatory, abusive, or insulting comments about staff online or in the media
- Using bad language or swearing at practice staff
- Physical violence towards any member of the Primary Health Care Team or other patients (e.g. pushing or shoving)
- Verbal abuse in any form, including insults directed at staff
- Any form of racial abuse or sexual harassment
- Persistent or unrealistic demands that cause stress to staff. While requests will be met wherever possible, explanations will be provided when they cannot
- Causing damage to or stealing from the practice’s premises, staff, or patients
- Fraudulently obtaining drugs and/or medical services
- Arrogant, aggressive, or dismissive behaviour
